FIA Extinguishing and Service Councils published new Guidance Documents.

FIA Guidance Document– Passenger Transport – Railway Rolling Stock.  This information is for FIA members on the provision of portable fire extinguishers for railway rolling stock e.g. locomotives, coaches and multiple-unit vehicles in Great Britain. FIA Guidance Document – Farms and Similar Agricultural Facilities. This is information for FIA members and their customers, who have to determine the scale of provision of portable fire extinguishers on farms and similar agricultural facilities. This document offers no other guidance as to the scale of provision of portable fire extinguishers for open-air events. Read more by clicking the link below.

 

FIA Guidance Document – Guideline to BS5306‐10:2019 “Colour coding to indicate the extinguishing medium contained in portable fire extinguishers”. This new standard came into effect on 31st October 2019. It supersedes BS 7863:2009, which is withdrawn.The major change is the colour‐code for class D Powder extinguishers (for metal fires) is changing from Blue to Signal Violet.
