Fire Protection and Safety in Tunnels 2018

The 2018 edition of FPST will showcase major innovations for designing, implementing and upgrading tunnel fire and safety projects. Marking our 10th year of running the prestigious event, we will be joined by global key speaker from organisations such as Transport for London, ASFINAG, Rotterdamsebaan, Metroselskabet and Roxel.

The conference days will also be full of networking opportunities allowing delegates the opportunity to share their experiences on a one-to-one basis. It will also enable delegates the chance to explore the latest technologies the industry has to offer, guaranteeing greater safety provisions are in place to minimize damage from fire-related incidents.

What's new on this year's agenda? 

1.      System Integration– integrating existing tunnel infrastructure with the latest technology remains at the core of ensuring ongoing safety in tunnels. To be delivered by Scanmatic. 

2.      Construction focus– we have invited major construction companies including PORR group, who are working on major continental projects.

3.      Sustainability (Rotterdamsebaan)-  Exclusively delivered by the project director of the first zero energy tunnel. If you are a tunnel owner or operator, this is an unmissable session for you.

IWMC 2018 – Programme out now

The agenda for this event can be downloaded directly from the IWMA homepage or from the conference homepage which is accessible via Watch out for the big red button.

The presentations that deal with systems in practice will be held on day one. The second day of the conference will be dedicated to research and testing.

In all, the programme includes 22 presentations. The speakers come from countries such as Canada, Finland, Austria, the People’s Republic of China and of course the UK.  

An exhibition with 15 companies showcasing their products will run alongside the conference.

Please note that the early bird period will end on 16th July. The registration period will end on 18th October. The International Water Mist Association will in all accept 150 registrations.

Companies wishing to support this event may still apply for a sponsorship plus table top for the IWMC exhibition. The Gold Sponsorship is still available. In 2017, The Emergency Services Show featured over 450 exhibiting companies and attracted a total of 7,599 visitors, making it the biggest event in its 11-year history.

The impressive indoor and outdoor exhibition is a one-stop shop for sourcing all the latest services and equipment required for emergency response and keeping the public safe from threats such as floods, road traffic accidents and terrorist attacks.

Exhibiting companies include leading names in search and rescue, extrication, communications, IT, protective clothing and uniforms, vehicles and fleet, vehicle equipment, outsourcing, training, community safety, and water rescue.

The event presents the ideal opportunity to meet, network and collaborate with colleagues within the emergency services, government departments, voluntary sector partners and NGOs. Free seminars and training sessions are also on offer.
