London, 07/10/2026 - The Fire Industry Association (FIA) is pleased to announce that Martin Watson, Chairman of the FIA, has been appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer, taking on additional executive responsibilities to lead the organisation through its next phase while continuing to serve as Chair of the Association.

Martin's appointment ensures continuity of leadership and reinforces the FIA's commitment to supporting its members, advancing fire safety standards, and representing the interests of the fire sector across the UK.

With extensive experience in leadership, governance, and stakeholder engagement, Martin has played a significant role in guiding the FIA as Chairman. In his new capacity as Interim CEO, he will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Association while working closely with the Board, members, partners and colleagues to deliver the FIA's strategic objectives.

Speaking about his appointment, Martin Watson said:

"The Fire Industry Association plays a critical role in promoting fire safety, supporting professional standards, and providing a strong voice for the industry. The appointment takes immediate effect.
