The Fire Industry Association (FIA) is pleased to announce that the FIA Technical Managers have been re-elected to significant positions within Euralarm. Euralarm represents the fire and security industry, providing leadership and expertise for industry, market, policymakers and standards bodies. They are the leading European Fire and Security Association, who represent over 5,000 member companies and national associations.
Robert Thilthorpe has been re-elected as Chair of the Services Section. He previously served as Chair of the Horizontal Compliance Technical Committee. The Services Section champions the interests of service providers within Euralarm and has played a key role in developing European standards for competency in fire and security services, such as EN 16763 and Remote Services EN 50710. Robert has represented the FIA at Euralarm since 2002.
Furthermore, Neil Budd has been elected as Vice-Chair of the Fire Section. Since 2019, Neil has been representing the FIA in this section. The Fire Section addresses the interests of professionals working with Fire Detection and Fire Alarm systems within Euralarm. It plays a vital role in formulating strategies to uphold and enhance Harmonised Product Standards under the Construction Products Regulations, especially the EN 54 series.
Both Robert and Neil continue to hold positions on the Euralarm Board, ensuring that the FIA and UK voice remain represented in the European Fire and Security sector.
