Midlands and southern housing procurement group, Central Housing Investment Consortium, has invited bids from firms for a £900m fire safety and security framework.

A great opportunity for FIA members to provide their products and services to a 'procurement consortium of more than 60 housing associations and local authorities' who is collectively responsible for more than 600,000 homes.

Its new fire safety and security framework will be available nationally and is designed for social housing providers needing to meet more stringent fire safety standards including the fitting of sprinkler systems to high-rise buildings.

Its new four-year framework will cover the supply, installation, replacement, servicing and maintenance of:

1) Sprinklers and optional Misting Systems (total spend: £500m)

2) Smoke control (£100m)

3) Fire alarms, extinguishers and emergency lighting (£100m)

4) Door entry and access control (£100m)

5) Security Systems including CCTV and Heat Sensor cameras (£100m)

Prequals need to be in by 28 August with documents available on the portal.'
