BSI is calling on the built environment sector to share views on BS 99001. With ISO 9001 under revision, now’s the time to have your say. Survey open until 9th October 2025.

BSI has launched a sector-wide survey to support the future development of BS 99001, the Quality Management Systems Standard for the Built Environment.

Developed by the B/570 Quality Management in Construction committee, BS 99001 builds on the foundation of ISO 9001, incorporating additional sector-specific requirements. The aim is to enhance quality, safety, and project outcomes throughout the entire asset lifecycle—from design and construction to operation and decommissioning.

With ISO 9001 currently under revision, the B/570 committee is now seeking industry feedback to help guide the next update of BS 99001. The survey invites views on the standard’s effectiveness, implementation challenges, and opportunities for improvement.

The survey is open from 9th July to 9th October 2025, and BSI is encouraging widespread participation from organisations and professionals across the built environment sector.
