The consultation that builds on the recommendations from Dame Judith Hackitt’s "Independent Review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety" is released

The Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government has now published the consultation Building a Safer Future: Proposals for Reform of the Building Safety Regulatory System. The Secretary of State has also made a Written Ministerial Statement to Parliament. The consultation sets out how government intends to take forward the recommendations made by Dame Judith Hackitt’s Independent Review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety through meaningful legislative reform, and invites views from industry and residents. The consultation covers the CSG’s ( Competency Steering Group) proposals for an overarching system for competence oversight, as part of a suite of measures that Government proposes to introduce to improve building safety.
