Wow, what a week that was…

Last week marked Mental Health Awareness Week, an important opportunity to raise awareness and highlight the importance of talking openly and taking positive action to support our mental health and wellbeing. Safe to say, the week was packed with activities that got us moving, encouraged meaningful conversations about the things that affect us, and gave us all a chance to step away from the usual office routine.

It all kicked off with our Mindful Mondays Mental Health Walk at Bushy Park, London, and a little rain couldn’t stop us. It was a thoroughly enjoyable walk filled with great chats, talking about anything and everything, exploring the flower garden where we saw flowers of all colours bursting out in full bloom, walked alongside cascading streams in the woodland gardens where baby ducks were sheltering from the rain, and we even managed to see some deer in the distance. We definitely came back feeling refreshed and re-energised.

The fun didn’t end there, next up was therapeutic Tuesdays, and for this our Marketing Executive led a relaxing yoga session, which saw us decompress and get rid of all the stress, anxiety and tension from our muscles, stretched out our kinks and brought a nice relaxed feel to finish off our day.

On Wednesday it was our pub quiz, a way to break up the day and get together with colleagues who either work remotely or at other sites. It was a fantastic opportunity to catch up, enjoy each other’s company, and embrace a little friendly competition along the way. Congratulations to our quiz champion, Chris Tilley!

Thursday saw us host a ‘Tear and Share’ pizza lunch, designed to bring people together over a slice of pizza and some relaxed conversation and what a great session it was. It was fantastic to see so many people taking the opportunity to connect, reflect, and support one another in an open and welcoming environment.

To end the week on a high we were joined by the lovely SimpliciB, an expert in empowering and educating people and families from all backgrounds to make healthier choices on how they fuel their bodies. SimpliciB delivered an educational workshop which was full to the brim with techniques, useful guidance and resources that will all support us use food as way of supporting and improving our mental health and wellbeing.
