Holiday caravan accommodation presents unique fire safety challenges, particularly where sleeping guests may be unfamiliar with their surroundings. To support dutyholders in meeting their legal responsibilities and protecting occupants, the Resort Leisure Safety Group has published this dedicated guidance document on fire safety in holiday caravan accommodation

The guide provides practical recommendations on carrying out fire risk assessments, reducing fire hazards, providing effective means of escape, installing and maintaining smoke alarms, and communicating fire safety information to guests. It also includes example caravan layouts, a generic fire risk assessment template, and routine inspection checklists.

The FIA is pleased to make this resource available to support best practice and improve fire safety standards across the holiday park sector.
