Following the resignation of Chris Williamson from the Shadow bench, Lincoln MP Karen Lee has been promoted to Shadow Minister for Fire.

First time MP Karen Lee was initially promoted in July 2017 as the private secretary to Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell.

Writing on Twitter recently, she said ‘Very proud to be appointed Shadow Minister for Fire. I can now represent the people of Lincoln from the front benches.’

The FIA has always maintained regular contact with Fire Ministers and Shadows and worked closely with Ms Lee’s predecessor, Chris Williamson, including towards the end of last year where the discussion was understandably dominated by the Grenfell Tower tragedy.

We have written to the new Shadow and look forward to meeting with her in the near future.
