Help Shape the Future of Maintenance Reporting

The Fire Industry Association (FIA) Installers & Maintainers Section, under the FIA Services Council, is seeking input from organisations and individuals involved in the inspection, servicing and maintenance of fire safety systems.

Maintenance reporting is a critical element of demonstrating compliance, communicating system condition and supporting informed decision-making by responsible persons. To ensure that future industry guidance reflects current practice and addresses the challenges faced by those carrying out maintenance activities, the FIA has launched the Maintenance Reporting Questionnaire.

We are inviting maintenance providers, technicians, supervisors, managers and business owners to share their experiences and views. The results will help the FIA identify trends, understand industry concerns and support the development of practical recommendations that benefit the wider fire sector.

Why Take Part?

  • Help influence future FIA guidance and best practice.
  • Share your experience of current maintenance reporting processes.
  • Highlight challenges and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure the voice of installers and maintainers is represented in industry discussions.
  • Support the development of practical, industry-led recommendations.

The questionnaire should take only a few minutes to complete, but the information gathered will provide valuable insight to support future industry initiatives and help ensure that maintenance reporting remains effective, proportionate and fit for purpose.

As a small token of appreciation, all respondents who complete the survey will be entered into a prize draw to win a place on an FIA 4-day training course of their choice (subject to availability and FIA terms and conditions).

Thank you for supporting this important work and helping to improve maintenance reporting across the fire safety industry.
