The FIA's inaugural Charity Padel Tournament proved to be a fantastic success, bringing together members, partners and industry colleagues for a day of friendly competition, networking and fundraising in support of the Children's Burns Trust – a charity we are incredibly proud to support.
Held at Surbiton Racket & Fitness Club, the event raised over £1,000 for the charity while introducing many attendees to the fast-growing sport of padel. More importantly, it provided an opportunity for the industry to come together, strengthen relationships and enjoy a fun day away from the workplace.
The tournament began with a competitive round-robin stage, with teams battling through the summer heat for a place in the knockout rounds. After a series of closely contested quarter-finals and semi-finals, the final saw Fire Safety Event face Vimpex in an entertaining and hard-fought match. Following an excellent contest, Fire Safety Event pulled away in the closing stages to claim the inaugural FIA Charity Padel Tournament title.
Congratulations to Fire Safety Event on becoming our first champions and well done to Vimpex for finishing as worthy runners-up. We'd also like to thank every team that took part and helped make the day such a success.
A special thank you goes to our event sponsors Uptick, Elmdene and Nineteen Group, whose support made the event possible, as well as Surbiton Racket & Fitness Club for hosting such a well-organised tournament.
Elmdene shared their thoughts on the day:
"A fantastic, well-organised day hosted by the FIA, with friendly competition for players of all padel skill levels. The event also included great networking opportunities and a BBQ, all in support of the amazing Children's Burns Trust charity. We look forward to attending any future events!"
Thank you once again to everyone who attended, competed, sponsored and donated. Your support helped raise valuable funds for an incredible cause, and we're already looking forward to making next year's tournament even bigger and better.
