On 25 February Brandon Lewis (DCLG Minister of State) in a written reply to Helen Jones (Shadow Minister – Home Affairs) stated that DCLG will publish shortly its response to the February 2014 document ‘Review of Property Conditions in the Private Rented Sector’.
Graham Ellicott comments “This document closed for responses on 28 March 2014 and many in the fire sector anticipated a Government response within three months of that date but this was not to be the case. It will interesting to see what DCLG’s defintion is of ‘shortly’ as recent experience suggests that we could wait another six months to a year to hear! Surely now a swift response will be forthcoming on this life safety matter? Time will tell…..”
