UK Government open consultation. Conformity assessment and marking of transportable pressure equipment.

UK Government seeks views about amending the requirements for conformity assessment and marking of transportable pressure equipment being placed on the market in Great Britain.
Proposes amending the carriage of dangerous goods and transportable pressure equipment regulations to end recognition of EU Pi-marked transportable pressure equipment (TPE).
TPE being placed on the market in Great Britain (GB) would need to be conformity-assessed by:
- an appointed body established in GB and Rho-marked
or
- a notified body established in Northern Ireland, affixed with a Pi-marking plus UK(NI) indication
The proposed change will come into effect between 1 January 2022 and 1 January 2023.
