FIA is seeking to nominate a delegate to three BSI committees that write Fixed Systems standards:
FSH/18 Fixed Fire fighting systems
This committee is responsible for the coordination, drafting and maintenance of standards for fixed fire fighting systems and co-ordinating input to work in CEN/TC191 and ISO/TC21. This is the parent (strategy) committee for all the fixed fire fighting committees at BSI. Suitable candidates would have a broad understanding of all fixed firefighting systems.
FSH/18/2 Sprinklers
Under the direction of FSH/18, will consider developments in the emerging UK sprinkler fire fighting industry. It will address the needs for standardization in order to ensure effective and safe sprinkler firefighting systems can be specified and delivered through the adoption of industry best practice and will also review and contribute to the work programmes of CEN/TC 191/WG5 and ISO/TC 21/SC5 for standardization in sprinkler systems
FSH/18/6 Gaseous Extinguishing systems and media
Under the direction of FSH/18 is responsible for the preparation of standards for Gas extinguishing systems and components and for providing the UK input to CEN/TC191/WG6 and ISO/TC21/SC8
Suitable candidates would have a broad understanding of all Gaseous extinguishing systems. Suitable candidates would also have a broad understanding of all sprinkler systems.
