
New government guidance on using waste extinguishers for training purposes

New guidance has been published surrounding using waste portable extinguishers for training purposes.
The Environment Agency share the conditions you must comply with, what enforcement is in place and when a review is due.
According to the guide, you must only:
- store and use waste fire extinguishers for training exercises
- use waste fire extinguishers that do not need any treatment or repair
- store or use up to 100 waste fire extinguishers at any one time
- discharge water or carbon dioxide waste fire extinguishers
