An open letter that has been sent to the Minister of State for Building Safety and Fire, voicing support for CS Todd Associates as suitable subject matter experts, well placed to draft a new guidance document on “Means of Escape for Disabled People Guide” and recognising their valuable contribution to fire risk management standards in the fire sector.
This letter comes as a result of ‘social media messages vilifying Colin Todd for his perceived lack of concern for disabled people when it comes to fire safety in a residential environment’ in addition to ‘then trying to influence the cancellation of the contract from the Home Office with CS Todd to draft or revise much needed guidance on fire safety’.
The letter lists a wealth of CS Todd’s awards and achievements including his MBE for services to fire safety, with a particular reference to fire safety of the public in domestic dwellings, in the 2019 New Year’s Honours List. Beyond this the letter further states CS Todd’s credentials as Chartered Engineer Fellow.
The letter goes on to state that ‘It is the view of the majority of the fire industry that there is no practice in the UK better able to carry out the important work of producing the new guides that CS Todd’.
