26 May 2022
The Government have announced a new consultation on emergency evacuation information sharing (EEIS). This consultation follows on from the Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs) consultation, which ran from 8 June to 19 July 2021, and the Government on the 18 May 2022 published the formal response that consultation.
The response can be found here.
The PEEPs consultation raised significant issues covering 3 broad areas – practicality, proportionality and safety, which means the Government are currently unable to mandate PEEPs in high-rise residential buildings. The new EEIS+ consultation therefore seeks views on alternative proposals to support the fire safety of residents who would need support to evacuate in an emergency.
The details of the consultation can be found here.
The FIA will be holding a meeting, to provide an FIA response to the consultation.
This is taking place on the 27th of July VIA zoom. Any members wishing to take part in this special interest group meeting should contact the technical manager Will Lloyd [email protected] For details of the meeting
