Returning at a vital time for the sector in an improved and expanded format to include a suppliers’ exhibition area. With radical changes to our Fire and Rescue Services gaining ever-growing momentum, their collective mode of operation is becoming very different and clearly, much of this will be driven by a pro-active and co-operative partnership of the FRSs with the suppliers to the sector.

With the exhibition space fully subscribed and the delegate list exceeding 100, both the FRSs and suppliers to the sector were out in force to understand and to contribute to the rapid evolution of our Fire and Rescue Services.

The Programme began on the afternoon of 8th February with an exhibition featuring the latest Fire and Rescue products, augmented with presentations from the CFOA Director of Corporate Services and Sector Improvement, Geoff Howsego, and the CFOA Lead on Procurement, Mike Pearson.

The full day that followed comprised a Seminar providing an indispensable focal point for the collaboration of Fire and Rescue personnel with their product and service providers, enabling delegates to receive a detailed understanding of the relevant issues and to empower both FRS personnel and industry suppliers to be active participants in the future of our Fire and Rescue Services. Chaired by CFO Paul Fuller, speakers on the second day included Chief Fire and Rescue Adviser, Peter Holland, CFO Simon Routh-Jones, Matt Wroughton of the Fire Service College, Jonathan Smith of the Emergency Services Collaboration Working Group and our own FIRESA Council Chairman Derek Gotts.
