FIM Expo – the fire industry manufacturer’s expo – was held yesterday at Doncaster Racecourse, and featured two seminars on BS 5839-1:2017, presented by Will Lloyd, Technical Manager.

The expo had a good number of visitors from the local area, speaking to exhibitors from across the fire industry, including local fire risk assessors, firefighters, fire detection and alarm service technicians, fire alarm designers, and health and safety professionals.

Attendees praised the excellent selection of exhibitors, and the quality of the show, saying how vital it was to see the latest products and be updated on British Standards via the seminars.

Doors to the event opened at 9.30am, with the first seminar running at 11am, which was fully attended and spaces were full.  This was followed by a free lunch for attendees, and a repeat of the seminar at 2pm. Exhibitors on their stands were available throughout the day to talk to delegates about their products and services, and network with other businesses.
