In mid-2021, the FIA invited people in the industry to participate in a Special Interest Group, set up under Working Group 27 (Alarm Devices). The focus of the group was to create a guidance document for those involved in the design, installation, commissioning, and servicing of fire alarm systems where occupants of buildings have sensory sensitivities.

This guidance has now been updated to reflect the changes in BS 5839-1:2025 and HTM 05-03 Part B 2024.
