The FIA stands with Ukraine. As a trade association with public safety at the very heart of its work, the Fire Industry Association condemns in the strongest possible terms the invasion of Ukraine by Russian military forces. We believe that the bravery and resilience of the Ukrainian people are an inspiration to the world, and we should do what we can to support them in their hour of need.

We support the use of sanctions against the Russian State as the best way to get the Russian government to pull its military forces out of Ukraine and seek a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

Currently, there are a number of sanctions in place with regard to trade with Russia and there are a number of sanctions regarding Russian owned businesses. We ask our member companies to look at the Government guidelines for these.

Whether it be a legal requirement or not, we ask that you join our ethical stance and do not deal with Russian owned businesses (be that full or partial ownership). We also ask you to investigate your supply chains and your routes to market to check if they have links to Russia.

The FIA are currently investigating the ownership of our members and will take appropriate action if we find any level of Russian ownership or if any of our members are trading with any Russian entity; we believe that this is the right thing to do morally.

Let’s stand together and raise our voices to the Russian people telling them that what is happening in Ukraine is not acceptable and withdraw their military forces and seek a peaceful solution.
