The latest update of BS 5839-1 Fire detection and fire alarm systems for buildings - Part 1: Design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of systems in non-domestic premises - Code of practice is now available for public comment.

The BS 5839-1 update sets out crucial guidelines and practices for fire safety within non-domestic premises, ensuring the highest standards of protection for occupants and property. The public comment period will remain open until 16th April, 2024.

FIA under the direction of Services Council will organise a Special Interest Group (SIG) meeting to agree the FIA submission, details of the SIG will follow shortly.
