Unit 11 BS5389 Part 6 : Domestic Dwellings
Overview
The requirement for fire alarm systems in dwellings requires specialised knowledge, covered in BS5839 Pt 6. This half day course, supplementing the knowledge gained in Unit 1, will provide anyone involved in fire alarm systems for dwellings the understanding and knowledge of BS5839 Pt 6 necessary to speak with confidence on this specialised, technical field. For anyone involved in dwellings this course will prove invaluable either when fielding client’s questions, designing systems or for building specialists in considering the implications of the fire alarm requirement alongside Approved Document B.
The Course
This intensive course is run over half a day and will provide you with the knowledge and understanding necessary to work with fire alarm systems in dwellings as required by BS5839-Pt 6.

Outcome
All delegates will be provided with a comprehensive manual covering the material included throughout the training and additional support material, serving as a valuable point of reference after completion of the course. The ongoing assessment included in the course will allow the trainer to monitor progress and provide additional assistance to learning where required. Delegates achieving 75% or more in the assessments will be awarded an FIA certificate stating that they have attended and passed the course.
NB:
During this course you will be provided with a manual to assist in the learning process and there are tests where you will be expected to read questions and write answers. The FIA is unable to make special provision for those who are unable to complete these tasks.
