In a major accolade for Siemens’ commitment to ‘Zero Harm’ working practices, the British Safety Council has just awarded Siemens Building Technologies a five star assessment, with an overall audited score of 98.43% in its recent audit.

In the letter accompanying its report, the BSC said that it was,”delighted to confirm that you attained a five star rating and have been recommended for continued BS OHSAS18001:2007 certification.  This is an excellent achievement which clearly demonstrates your organisation’s commitment to health and safety.”

As a five star organisation, Siemens Building Technologies will be eligible to apply for the 2014 Sword of Honour award, which recognises the ‘best of the best’ in health and safety management.  This was last awarded to the company in 2012.

The audit team not only praised management commitment to the health and safety management system, but the fact that all personnel spoken to had a clear understanding of their duties and responsibilities.

Interim Managing Director Meinrad Wagenschwanz welcomed this endorsement, saying: “Congratulations are due to all Siemens Building Technologies employees on this fantastic result, for maintaining and demonstrating our commitment to placing Health and Safety at the heart of what we do.”
