210-metre high zip line event

15 March 2019

The Fire Fighters Charity have created an opportunity with ZipLondon to raise money and ride an exhilarating 210-metre high and 600-metre long zip line.

The zip line will run from the top of One Canada Square tower in Canary Warf on the 30 June 2019 for one day only and will be rigged and operated by London Fire Brigade’s world-leading line rescue experts.

The Fire Fighters Charity offers specialist lifelong support for members of the UK fire services community, empowering individuals to achieve mental, physical and social wellbeing throughout their lives.

It works with firefighters, former firefighters and past and present personnel from across the UK’s fire and rescue services, supporting their mental health, physical health and social wellbeing.

Dr Jill Tolfrey, The Fire Fighters Charity chief executive, commented, “Firefighting can be a physically demanding and mentally challenging profession, for those on the front line and for those supporting them, both professionally and personally

“We have seen an increase in fire service personnel coming to us for support with their mental health in particular over recent years.

“The money from ZipLondon will allow us to do more to support them when they need it.”

Places on the charity team strictly restricted to 20 daring individuals, each of whom is asked to raise or donate £50,000 to secure their spot.

“So by testing your own mental resilience by taking on a challenge like ZipLondon, you’ll be helping thousands of firefighters across the UK to strengthen their own mental resilience and continue in their roles supporting our communities”, Jill concluded.
