Press release

24 November 2014

The FIA will be taking part in UK Business Safety Week which will runs on 8-14 December.

Coordinated by the Chief Fire Officers Association (CFOA), the FIA will join the Fire Protection Association (FPA), BAFE and the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) to promote the initiative.

The week aims to promote the effective management of fire safety in buildings used for commercial, voluntary and community use in the UK. It focuses on three areas: Fire Risk Management; Fire Risk Assessment; and Business Continuity.

Fire and rescue services will be holding events and activities to encourage businesses to manage their fire risks.

The initiative is being held at an important time of the year for fire safety, when businesses are at a higher risk due to increased stock levels, seasonal employees and preparing for a shut down over the festive period.
