Fire Minister, Penny Mordaunt, has announced in a press release her support for improved procurement processes within the Fire and Rescue Services.

This is encouraging news for the FIA’s Fire and Rescue suppliers who met with the Minister little more than a week before this announcement and made their position clear that progress need to be made to develop a more co-ordinated approach to the FRS procurement regime.

As part of this, we hope to see not just greater collaboration in the purchasing element itself but also in the associated issues of equipment standardisation and evaluations.
