Delegates from the new FIA Fire Fighting Council, formed out of the recent FIRESA - FIA merger,  attended a meeting on 27th March with Sir Ken Knight in relation to his Fire and Rescue Services Efficiencies Review.

The Council's Efficiencies Review submission to Sir Ken Knight confirms our commitment to a strong and effective UK supply chain into the UK Fire and Rescue Services market.

Among the recommendations are reductions in the administrative burden on suppliers when responding to Framework and mini-tender processes; a centralised approach to product evaluations; involvement in recognised national output-based specifications; and a commitment to identifying and providing the product innovations that our Fire and Rescue Services need as their challenges change over time.
