June 1970.
At the BFPSA AGM, we were in the habit of inviting guests from a wide variety of other organisations.
This year’s guest list included the Home Office Inspector of Fire Services, a representative from the insurance industry, from the Institute of Fire Engineering, and the General Post Office.
At the previous AGM, our chairman had said that ‘there were several committees and we would need to co-opt members from outside Council’ to man them.
There are, in 1970, now 16 committees running the business of our organisation. (For example our Publicity Committee which later this year enters us in both British and International Fire Directories for ’71, and our Technical Committee which is building up quite good relations with the insurance industry.)
Members request a general discussion meeting and – just like FETA in its early years - more frequent newsletters.
