Part of the FIA’s membership criteria is to have Third Party Certification, which could include ISO 9001 as applicable to your business.  The time to begin to plan the Transition to ISO9001:2015 is now.

Our Compliance Manager, is an IRCA (The International Register of Certificated Auditors) registered Lead Auditor in both ISO 9001:2015 and OHSAS18001 Standards and has recently led the way in getting the FIA transitioned to the new ISO 9001 Standard too, so he does know how it works!

Since Kevin Stearns, our Compliance Manager, joined the FIA last October, we’ve been in a position to offer his consultancy services to help you achieve a successful transition to the new Standard, along with an auditing consultancy service too.

Although September 2018 seems a long way off, (2 years does sound a long time away), it can take between 6 to 10 months to have the new Management Systems in place and have these systems audited to ensure compliance with the new Standard.  If it is left to the last moment, you run the risk of being out of certification for a period of time, which could affect your business.  And, the certification bodies only have so many auditors to go around!
