In May 1969 our BFPSA Chairman reported:

• ‘The Association had begun with the intention of obtaining acceptance of its authority by the GPO and had been successful in this
• It had widened its membership and had considerable achievement to show for its first three years
• This progress would continue and relations with the Home Office and other bodies would develop from our continuing activities, and additional efforts we would make in this direction’

Responsibility for fire is now back in the Home Office and the FIA maintains the good relationships formed.
