Have you got electrical accessories such as satnav, Bluetooth, or an i-pod in your car?

At the May 1935 Council meeting, we learned that the Ministry of Transport had recently announced that ‘they would not object to the installation of wireless sets in cars provided fire precautions were taken’.

Imagine having to have a fire extinguisher installed if you wanted a car radio. Though of course, if you want to sell portables to car or taxi owners, you can now say that it is a safety precaution established over 80 years ago!

FETA decided to offer help in drawing up the regulations, though we have no note of whether a new law was introduced.
