30 July 2025

Location: FIA Northwich
Duration: 08:30 – 11:30
CPD Hours: 3

Join us for a morning of insight, bacon rolls, and burning questions (metaphorically, of course).

The FIA Technical Breakfast Club is your chance to tap into the collective knowledge of the FIA’s technical brain trust. This informal yet informative session gives attendees the opportunity to ask questions, hear updates, and discuss the latest developments in the fire protection world — from recent changes to what’s just over the horizon.

Following the hugely popular BS 5839-1 update events (and the avalanche of follow-up questions), we're bringing our full technical team together in one room to dive deeper into the most talked-about topics — and give you the answers you've been after.

Expect discussion on:

  • BS 5839-1 Update

  • F-Gas regulation updates

  • Emergency lighting standard changes

  • New qualifications on the horizon

  • Risk assessment challenges

  • ...and whatever else you throw at us!

Our panel will include FIA Technical Managers Will Lloyd, Neil Budd, Robert Thillthorpe, and Technical Officer Jamie Gale, ready to answer your questions — whether submitted in advance or asked live on the day.

This session is driven entirely by your questions, so please send them in ahead of time to [email protected]. The more we get in advance, the more focused (and useful) the session will be.

Note on pricing:
While we'd love to run these events for free, experience tells us that "free" often means a 25% no-show rate. To help us manage numbers and ensure meaningful discussion, we’ve introduced a modest fee:

  • £10 for FIA Members

  • £30 for Non-Members

You’ll gain 3 CPD hours, industry insight, and perhaps even a fresh perspective (along with a croissant or two).
