Whilst there is no necessary experience required to be allowed to sit the training, any previous experience or shadowing of a competent engineer will be beneficial prior to sitting the course.

As this course includes a practical element with water, delegates may get wet and/or dirty and must come with the following:

• safety footwear,
• hardhat, safety glasses and
• work clothing (may get wet and/or dirty).

• The applicable Legislation/standards for hose reels
• The course will touch on BS EN 671-1 where relevant in relation to maintenance of hose reels with semi-rigid hose 
• The maintenance of hose reels with semi-rigid hoses in accordance with EN 671-3.
• Where BS 5306-1 impacts on servicing to EN 671-3
• The potential risks from maintenance actions which may impact the premises
• Practical training and assessment

• Delegates will have received practical hands-on experience on Hose Reels
• Course manuals to take away and refer back to
• FIA Certificate on passing the Theory and Practical Assessment
