Kent haulage company's offices gutted by fire

20 Jan 2012

The offices of a haulage company in Kent have been completely gutted after a fire broke out in the premises earlier this week.

Fire-fighters attended the incident at Oaks View Solutions in Dartford at around 10.30pm on Wednesday (18th January) and discovered the building well alight upon their arrival.

Two fire crews sporting breathing apparatus fought the fire on the ground floor of the building for nearly two hours and made checks to ensure the building was safe.

Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, a 'suitable and sufficient' fire risk assessment must be conducted on all commercial properties in England and Wales.

If a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment is not carried out, the Responsible Person faces up to two years in prison or an unlimited fine.
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by forensics experts from the local police and fire services who are combing the site for evidence
