Objections to the BBC abound!

21 November 2016

A new approach was needed for marketing. On 3rd November 1971 we thought that advertising of the Association should not be directed at Brigades, who were already aware of us, or in Fire journals where our individual members advertised, but should be directed instead to managing directors and architects, that is, to non-fire-specialists who influence orders and commission work. Today our Marketing Group are targeting end-users and developing messages and delivery methods to target them.

Sometimes our early records contain only hints of stories it would have been fun to hear more about.  In November 1983, BFPSA raised an objection to a proposed BBC television film in which a security officer is locked into a computer suite and murdered by setting off the CO2 system!
