Public & Press Relations
As part of the PR focus for the FIA we employ a Birmingham based PR consultancy, Shaw & Underwood. The company has wide ranging experience in the fire industry and in addition to regular press releases on developments within the organisation, often writes dedicated articles to specific editorial briefs for a number of business to business publications.
They are also responsible for writing, printing and distributing the FIA’s quarterly newsletter, FIA Focus, which often contains useful updates on the issues affecting those involved in fire protection, from new legislation and new initiatives, to research, technical updates and the training available to help improve levels of competency.
As a trade association, the FIA is in an enviable position to comment on issues without any commercial axe to grind. The technical expertise within the association, both within the FIA secretariat’s personnel and in our member companies, means that we are able to speak with authority and knowledge on technical issues. Our regular communication and input to the government and other stakeholders also means we are conversant with the current position on most issues affecting the industry and can comment accordingly.
