• FIA Export Mission to Kazakhstan - this took place over 12th-16th March 2012 and was coincident with the AIPS exhibition in Almaty during 14th-16th.  FIA Export had a stand at the event and the services of a dedicated interpreter. 

• FIA Export was delighted to participate in the FIA Annual General Meeting - it took place in central London on 9th November. FIA Export Chair, Tracy Kirk, took the stage in an interview session with the FIA Chief Executive, Graham Ellicott, answering questions on our achievements and future plans. 

• FIA Export Announces Istanbul Mission - taking place 10th-14th October 2011, coinciding with the TUYAK Symposium on the last two of these days. The mission is open to non- FIA Export members who should contact the Export Manager, Dave Smith, for further details

• Fire Fighting Enterprises wins at Fire Excellence Awards - Congratulations to our Chair's organisation, Fire Fighting Enterprises, which won the International Achievement category at the recent Fire Excellence awards at the Hilton Metropole. FFE grew its overseas business by nearly 15% in the last year, with growth in the USA rising by 30% in each of the last two years and now reaching £1M pa

• FIA Export at International Firex - as part of the FIA stand and we are pleased that so many came along to find out more about what we do on behalf of UK exporters in the fire protection and fire fighting sectors. We also ran a Pub Quiz on Wednesday 18th May coincident with the Exhibitors' Reception and are delighted to announce that we raised exactly £1,000 for the Charitable Trust of the Worshipful Company of Firefighters. Sincere thanks go to all who took part or otherwise donated and congratulations to the winners, Kidde Airsense!

• FIA Export Co-sponsors Meet The Buyers Event at International Firex - buyers and commercial officers attended from 25 countries across the world and were involved in over 600 meetings over three and a half hours. This remains a unique and very cost-effective way to see many representatives from all over the world in the same place at the same time!

• FIA Export Secures Funding from UKTI for Two Missions - to take place in 2011/12 and is initiating plans for visits to Turkey and Kazakhstan. In addition, members have offered their views on those countries on which they would wish to receive fire-specific Market Reports and work is under way on commissioning these studies

• FIA Export 10th Anniversary - was celebrated on 23rd February 2011 with a lunch-time reception at the St Stephen's Club in London following our Council meeting. We were joined by several industry partners and alumni from the original FIC Export Council, all of whom raised a glass to our next decade!

• FIA Export Exhibits at INTERSEC - Dubai, January 2011 as well as participating in the Meet The Buyers event that was arranged for the first evening of the show. Members reported an excellent exhibition that excelled in both quantity and quality of visitors. We are currently working with UKTI and our Association partners to expand the profile of the UK delegation at next year's show

• FIA Export Reports a Highly Successful Indian Mission - based around the Firex India show in Mumbai [at which there was an FIA Export stand] (Nov 2010), the visit also included a High Commission briefing, a meeting with the President of the Fire Protection Association of India, an evening reception with members of the Fire and Security Association of India and a visit to the Taloja Industrial Estate during which we met with a number of Fire Safety Managers of the various manufacturers on the complex.
  
  The FSAI reception was especially valuable as delegates were able to present to over 80 FSAI members and hold one-to-one meetings while our liaison with the FPAI included renewal of our joint Memorandum of Understanding.
