Introduction to Fire in Buildings

Those who work within the fire industry become specialists within their own field; the generalist is a rare and valuable commodity. Fire safety within the built environment requires that generalist view.

Fire detection and alarm, portable or fixed extinguishers, passive protection, emergency lighting and other systems all work together to provide a comprehensive fire safety system. This course will give you an understanding of that bigger picture.

When advising your customers on their fire safety needs, can you recognise the passive systems already installed, do you understand the manner in which they work, and the implications of any changes made to them? What makes an escape route and how long should the emergency lighting remain on for?

Do you truly understand current fire safety legislation and how does third party certification help? Or are you a non fire industry professional who holds responsibility for fire safety, and want to know what your competent persons are talking about?

Introduction to Fire in Buildings will broaden your knowledge and provide a basic understanding of fire safety in the bigger picture.

The Course
